Lacey walked the halls unable to sleep for the second night this week. She felt haggard and alone, without anyone around in these dark hallways. She didn’t care really if a Professor caught her roaming the halls, because she could most likely persuade them away from giving her a detention. And even if she couldn’t she didn’t mind detention too much because all you had to do was write a few hundred words and be on your way in no time. Lacey sighed as she walked into the stairwell and watched as none of the staircases moved. It was odd not seeing a single one move at night, even though she had seen it many times before. Lacey felt a little hungry, but she didn’t know the password for the kitchen, so she took out her wand and acciod a packet of carrots.
As she crunched on a carrot, she took the stairs down to the first floor. She walked around a bit while it was still pitch black because she didn’t want to wake the pictures or bring any attention to herself if someone happened to be roaming the halls as well. Lacey had memorized these halls after nights like these where she was unable to sleep. It irritated her that her sleeping habits would sometimes be erratic, but since she could do nothing about it, she instead walked along the dark halls. A sigh slipped from her lips as she ate another carrot. The crunching noise was quite loud, but it made her very aware as to how loud she was.
Lacey wondered if any other students other than she were awake at this hour, but she highly doubted it. It was almost three o’clock in the morning and no one would be awake now. Not that she really cared. She never really liked company other than a few certain people. Some people called her a brat, while others saw her as a stuck up bitch, but really, Lacey just didn’t like people very much. Especially ignorant people or people who called attention upon themselves. To her, she just didn’t get along with people other than her sister and Scorpius. Thinking of Scorpius made her smile as she chewed on another carrot.
She walked around the corner to the Great Hall and noticed a lantern shining beside one of the tables. Her heart leaped into her throat and she quickly turned around and ran to a dungeon door, opening it as quietly as possible and closing it with a barely audible click as the swinging handle hit the wood. She exhaled softly and turned around to see that everything in her presence was black as sin. She was glad she brought her wand with her everywhere she went and pulled it out of her army boot. “Lumos.” She called out quietly. She squinted her eyes against the harsh light and flicked her wand so that the small ball of light floated away in front of her and she could see if anything was down there other than her. She held her wand up and followed after the light, waiting for something to pop out at her.

The moon had been full the night before causing this little girl to sleep the day away. sadly that meant that tonight there would be nothing resembling sleep. Her homework from the week had already been finished, not causing the outcome she had hope for. Bryn usually fell asleep before she was ever able to finish her homework, but tonight she hadn't been so lucky. Now she was beyond restless and was off on a walk to calm herself and hopefully a nap would happen before her first morning class.
Black ballet flats made no sound on the stone floors as she walked though the empty hallways. Even though she was only in her fourth year the pictures in the frames were used to her wandering around in the dark and left her be. A small charmed stone offered a bit of red colored light, since it would be less harsh turning it on and off to avoid the random teacher. Normally they thundered through the halls and a girl as small as Bryn had an easy time hiding in the nooks of the walls or behind an errant statue.
Footsteps made the girl quickly drop the stone into her jeans pocket, the glow completely hidden through the dark denim and the thick material of her robe. Her athletic frame dropped into an easy crouch as she waited. About the time she began to hold her breath so as not to be heard the bright white light of a wand passed to close blinding her.
"Hey!"
She should have never opened her mouth. Quickly Bryn clamped a hand over her mouth, blinking away the dark spots that clouded her vision. This was about to be an interesting night.

Lacey never really minded the dark, but a dark dungeon wasn’t something she went into unless she had to. The eerie sense that someone was nearby crept up her spine, and suddenly she heard someone speak from behind her. She turned and pointed her wand at the girl who was crouching down. Why was this girl inside of a dungeon this late at night? “Stand up.” She commanded in a harsh whisper. This girl was small looking and someone that shouldn’t be walking around the dungeons at any time, especially at night. She looked to be around her fourth or fifth year, and she looked a little familiar. Perhaps she was a Slytherin, but she couldn’t be sure. The only way was to ask her, so she lowered her wand ever so slightly. “What house are you in?” a scowl set on her face as she waited for the young girl to answer her. If she was a snake, Lacey would be less harsh on the girl and not silence her with a hex and freeze her to be found tomorrow. It would be somewhat enjoyable, however, if she was in another house, because she hadn’t hexed someone in quite some time.

Bryn mentally cursed herself as her legs unfolded and she stood. Her stance was one of mild defiance with her shoulders pulled back, her back straight, and head held high. She may be younger than the girl before her but Bryn had problems backing down from a fight. Her father had once sent her a letter detailing on her being of his bloodline and how a proper werewolf should act. Of course she had adapted it to suit her own needs, no one told this girl what to do.
"I've seen you before in the common room, I'm a slytherin like you."
Her voice held no more snottiness than any other slytherin would have used. Actually her tone was rather pleasant than what she could have used. Cold hazel eyes glittered in the dim lighting as she watched the girl. You could tell a lot naturally by someone's body language, and with Bryn's heightened senses she could tell more than most usually.

Lacey sighed heavily when the girl spoke. Her tone was emotionless and her face blank, just as hers would have been if it were her that had been caught in a dungeon. “That’s too bad.” She almost wanted the girl to be in another house because it would be amusing to see her squirm. “Why are you in a dungeon after curfew?” she wasn’t going to pester the little girl too much because she remembered what it was like to be in fourth year with the upperclassmen looking down on her. Lacey smelled something faintly like dog musk, but figured it was just the coldness of the dungeon. A shiver ran down her spine and she clenched her jaw waiting for her to speak. She wondered if the girl was somewhat afraid of her, but doubted it. Lacey usually didn’t scare people, she was just rude to people. She didn’t like anyone that wasn’t pureblood and in Slytherin. Although her friend Scorpius had introduced her to some that weren’t too bad. They were all completely pissed, so that could be why she didn’t mind them too much. She wondered who exactly this girl was. Maybe she knew her family somehow? “Last name?” she asked and put her wand back in her boot then crossed her arms over her chest. She could barely see the girl, and put her hand out facing the torch at the dungeon door. “Incendio.” She said quietly. Suddenly the torch came to life with fire, and Lacey could see her better. sorry for the wait, i was having....issues lol

Bryn would shrug her shoulders, how did anyone truly explain being out after curfew. It was a naughty thing to do yet everyone seemed to do it. She knew that the older girl would understand the shrug. Bryn knew better than to get to mouthy, this was a seventh year and simply put the girl knew way more hexes than little Bryn.
Then came the dreaded question, usually it didn't come up so soon, but here it was falling on her ears. A deep breath was pulled in through her nose, as the torch burst into light. Now her eyes would blink rapidly, not quite liking the quick change of light. Her voice was soft yet firm, since she knew not what side this girl danced on.
"I'm Bryn, Bryn Greyback"
With those words Bryn would draw herself to her full height, her shoulders back. She wouldn't allow herself to be ashamed of her father. She had loved him once, if you could call it love, and she was powerful because of him. Now wasn't the time to shy away in fear or shame.
(ooc: glad you're back)

Lacey nodded at the girl when she shrugged. She wouldn’t have told anyone either, but she would have told the person exactly what she thought about them asking and tell them to bugger off with annoyance obviously aware in her voice. Lacey lit the torch with Incendio so she could see the girl more clearly. Lacey asked what her last name was and the small girl answered that her name was Bryn Greyback. She had heard of the Greybacks, but only that her father was something of a…man whore? Well, a nam with many children other that Bryn that were also out of wedlock. It was pathetic the way some people were, and he put a damper on the Slytherin name. The way the girl was standing said that she either didn’t care about her father, or she didn’t care what Lacey thought about her or her father. Either way, she was at least not a coward. Lacey pursed her lips and took out her wand and turned to hold it out in front of her. She began walking down the steps and further into the cold dungeon without another word to the girl. If she followed her, she followed, and Lacey wouldn’t care. She just didn’t want to stay so close to the dungeon door where a professor or another student could come in and see them.

Bryn allowed a smile smile of satisfaction to cross her lips. Either the girl had enough tact to say nothing about her father, or she didn't know the man. Bryn knew that the latter idea was highly unlikely, so it was a pleasant surprise that the girl before her said nothing.
As the girl began to walk away Bryn noticed that she was standing in a prime spot to have a professor find her. That wouldn't be a pleasant idea, so she began to follow the girl. She matched the pace with ease before speaking, her voice hardly above a whisper.
"So I know you're slytherin, but I haven't caught your name....."

Lacey heard the girl’s quiet footsteps behind her, but didn’t pay any attention to her. Lacey tip toed through the barely lit staircase and into a quite large chamber about 40 yards by fifty. Bryn asked for her name, but before answering, Lacey looked around the dungeon area. To her left was another fire torch and a small lantern. Further right, there was a stone bench that sat beside what looked to be a windowsill with no window. It looked like someone had made the windowsill a bench on its own. She huffed out a breath and turned to Bryn. “Lacey Wells.” She said just above a whisper. She wasn’t infamous, no doubt, but she also didn’t try to be. She didn’t like people very much except for a very select few excluding her family.
Lacey walked to the windowsill and sat, facing Bryn. She was beginning to get bored, and she wished she would have awoken Lark, her twin sister so that she could have company other than some fourth year. Well, she supposed she was stuck here for a little while. May as well not have silence in the dark dungeon. Lacey sighed heavily and looked at her. “Well, what year are you?” she said in an uninterested, bland tone.

Bryn settled herself against the wall, her legs folded in a manner that would allow her to move quickly should the need arise. She had been like that since she was a wee whelp, always ready for danger. If Fenrir had taught her anything it was that. Her nose twitched, but in the dim lighting it would most likely go unnoticed. The area they had come to smelled stale, and it was obvious to Bryn that chances of them being bothered this night would be slim.
"I'm a fourth year....and I'm going to guess that you're in seventh?"
Bryn knew that she would either hit the nail on the head or compliment the girl for thinking she was older. The room had a slight draft, but Bryn wasn't really bothered to much by it. There would always be as many perks to her condition as there were problems, and that would always be the way of her life, until she met with death [/blockquote]

Lacey looked down at her boots with a sigh. She wished she could do something other than hide out in a damn cold, dark dungeon with a fourth year. “I remember my fourth year. Terrible.” She said without emotion. She looked up at Bryn with a smirk hiding on her face. “Yes. I am in my seventh year.” She didn’t know what to say other than the obvious. She was beginning to become even more bored, if that was possible. She almost hoped that another stranger, or even someone she knew, would pop in and save her from having to be alone with her. Neither of them seemed interested to talk to each other and it was obvious why. Lacey didn’t normally didn’t talk to people below her, but she was so very bored, and so very awake that she wouldn’t be able to sleep if she went back to her room. Perhaps she could leave the girl in the dungeon and continue to walk around, but it was too soon to exit the dungeon and walk around the halls.

Bryn nodded in agreement, being in her fourth year was really nothing special. It wasn't completely terrible but it wasn't something she particularly wanted to remember fot the rest of her life. Her nose would twitch again slightly, irritated by the dust and mildew that was plaguing this section of the castle. She needed to get out of here rather soon or end up sneezing until she couldn't take it anymore.
"If you'll excuse me, I must be going."
With that Bryn would stand, brushing a bit of dust off of her clothing before she began to walk away. [/blockquote]

Scorpius wandered the halls, whistling to himself. It was one of those many nights where he could not get to sleep. It wasn't really because of nightmares or anything like that. He was just too awake for his own good. He had his hands in his pockets and was looking around at everything. He thought that looking at everything with no one around makes you notice the little things. Plus, it was less annoying. He stopped every few steps to look at a portrait and have a conversation if it was an interesting person. Most people would be tiptoeing around, but Scorpius didn't care. He never got caught, and if he did, they wouldn't do anything about it but send him back to the common room.
He made his way down to the dungeons. He wasn't heading back, he just loved being down there. Most people didn't because it was too cold or creepy. He loved the cold, and the creepiness didn't really bug him. As he walked around, he almost ran into a girl that seemed to be heading back to her common room. He shrugged and looked forward again, only to see Lacey. He smirked and walked over to her. "Well hello there."

Lacey shrugged when the young Slytherin said that she must be going. She looked up as she heard the door slowly creeking open, and looked up cautiously. When Bryn almost ran into whoever it was, he looked over at her. All she could see was a shadowed figure in the stairwell, until finally, Scorpius came down the stairs and said hello to her. Lacey smiled at him and scooted over on the window sill for him to sit next to her. “And hello to you, too.” She picked her knees up and wrapped her arms lightly around them. She wondered if Bryn had left them, or if she was still in the dungeon, so she looked up. She saw Bryn looking in their direction, so she squinted her eyes slightly. “Do you need something?” she asked. She didn’t like people staring at her. She looked back at Scorpius and smirked. Her night would definitely be better now that Scorp was here. She wouldn’t be absolutely bored out of her mind with some fourth year around. And even if she did stay, she wouldn’t care because she now had Scorp to keep her entertained.

Scorpius gave a wink to Lacey and then looked toward the other girl and cocked an eyebrow. He really wished she would leave. Not that he wanted to do anything sexual with Lacey, he just wanted alone time with her. He liked spending time with her. They really knew each other and it was pretty cool that way. He gave the other girl a glare. "Yes. Do you? Or do you want to watch us?" He gave a smirk and leaned over and kissed Lacey, just to hopefully scare the girl away. And he loved kissing her.
